I wake, knee and tube behind my 60kg alu quicksilver with a 25HP it has no wake at all though :) but its not problem with 2 people in boat and someone behind the boat on a board or a tube.

fifty horse merc was my first boat. i wakeboarded waterskiied and knee boarded i weigh 165. my buddie weighed 235. it was difficult to get him outta the water till i went to a 13 inch prop. it took away the top speed but it pulled anyone outta the water.
used the boat three seasons. loved it! an old blue beater. bubble type windsheild.
loads of fun.
change the prop and you can pull anything with a fifty!

HOWEVER BEWARE!!!!
it doesent take long before you decide you need a malibu wakesetter with tower! about $35,000 worth!:D

What about a 15.5 foot fiberglass tri-hull Monark delta target (round 700 pounds) with a 3 cylinder 2 stroke 65 horse mercury??

Back when I weighed like 135ish I used to wakeboard behind a zodiac with a 9.9! You will not have a problem IMO!

Depends on your setup. I tried behind my friends 19' Robalo with a Johnson 120 and it could barely pull me out of the water. At low speed, your basically dead weight in the water till the board gets "on plane". Mercury's are good motors and known for their torque, so you might be ok. I can pull two skiiers out of the hole fine with my 1980 80 Mercury swinging a 19pitch stainless on a 18' Glassmaster, but never tried wakeboarding. Never hurts to try it, worse thing that can happen is it won't pull ya up.

I think it depends on the size of the boat. My teenagers wakeboard most every day with a 48hp Evenrude on a 15' Whaler. You don't need as much power to wakeboard as you do to pop up a skier.
