Waketower Speakers

I am purchasing my first tower and I need to get a good speaker set up for the tower. I want my riders to hear the music and I would like some good base. If my boat had a name it would be called "Here comes treble!!!". I am sick of it!!! I don't want to spend more than $600 and I have a Sony deck with two 6 1/2 speakers inside. I was looking at these below...

Does anyone have these? Would they be good for what I am looking for??? PLEASE HELP!!!

if you're looking for bass, you're going to need some subs.

On the tower itself??? Did you look at the INFINITY 6100M MARINE WAKEBOARD TOWER SOUND SYSTEM? 6" Dual Midwoofers... What are those? I have no idea what I need, but I know I would like a good strong sound however it doesn't have sound like I at a Biggie Smalls show. Please give some help!!!

2 good speakers on the tower will do fine and add 1 or 2 subs in the boat with good amps, the link to ebay you put, i would not touch those at all, get good cans with good speakers, the infinity stuff is not a good product!

Thats the only one I would buy thats on Ebay right now.

I think I am going to fiberglass some cans myself instead of paying how much some of these places want.

Sorry, speakers are most of the time what you pay for. 6.5" speakers alone will not make a lot of bass.

Your budget just ins't going to buy you great speakers.... however there are some basic set ups that you can get. Look into wet sounds... well worth the money.

Ok so no infinity... I am installing a Rockford 8 inch sub in side my boat, which should sound great inside with the two 6.5 I purchased. I want to spend $600, but if $800-$1,000 will do it then I want it done right. I will hate myself if I save $300but still sounds like crap. I just didn't want to over spend on the tower speakers alone. I just don't understand what makes one set of 6.5 better than another set of 6.5... The infinitys I posted stated that they can be heard 50 feet behind the boat and come with an amp/mic. Just seemed like a good deal. I don't know anything though... I am the guy that listens to the 16 year old at Best Buy and has no clue.

Anybody seen, heard or used their DIY Wake speakers??? Raul said they weren't the top of the line or the bottom, just a good solid speaker. He said I would probably need 4 for the boarder to hear music.

I run that model of speaker on my tower, they are great speakers. 'course the fishermen hate when I cruise on by, but they are perfect for my needs.

I beg to diffr on the infinity 6100m i have them on my q5 mounted on the tower and that sound great, not huge bass but preety good and you can hear them for a wasys.and they r clear, and the pa system is a blast

I have the Kicker KMT-6 on my tower and they are fantastic. Can't believe just how good they really are for the money. Also have them on a friends boat and have been wakeboarding behind them this season. Like a disco on a board. Don't think you would be disappointed and would probably have to spend a lot more to get better. We used a cheap kenwood KDC6203 600W car amp to power them.

As people have said on this post, if you want bass, you need a sub and I'll go further but it's implied that if you need a sub, you need an amplifier. PERIOD!

Once more, all other things being equal, you won't be able to tell the difference between a mid quality speaker from a high quality speaker from 50' behind your boat going 20mph in water while you're concentrating on staying up on your board.

I have the Kicker KMT-6 on my tower and they are fantastic. Can't believe just how good they really are for the money. Also have them on a friends boat and have been wakeboarding behind them this season. Like a disco on a board. Ya I second the Kicker KMT-6. Im not a big fan of the way they look but they sound GREAT with a 600 watt amp. Plus you cant beat the price. I got mine new from ebay for $220 with shipping.
