Wal Mart has 2 Cycle Oil for about $10 per gallon. It says it's TWC 3. Any experience or thoughts about it? About 1/2 the cost of the brand name stuff.

I think the difference come between synthetic, semi, and non. more so than brand. I will tell you though I do notice a huge difference between using non synthetic and synthetic in higher performance motors like my jetski.

The National Marine Manufacturers Assosiation is the certifying authority. Look on the label and see if it says "Certified" TCW-3, and bears the NMMA logo. If it does those two things, it has been tested by NMMA and has passed. "Meets" TCW-3 Specifications" and other such double-talk either means it hasn't been tested or it has been tested and flunked.

I have a 1992 Johnson 115 and premix (VRO bypassed), using the Super Tech without any issues at all.

I buy many gallons of it when I am in the USA on business and bring it back to Canada. It is cheaper than buying it at Wal Mart here.
No issues with it whatsoever. Been using it for the last 3 years.

Um...Huh?? I wasn't debating that issue. I was responding to the original question concerning Wal Mart oil. I use Penzoil 100% Synthetic (TCW-3) almost exclusively. I do it because of the reduced smoke and oil slick.

It has the NMMA and TC-W3 logos.

There are RUMORS floating around on the internet about some high $ motors that failed (scored cylinder walls etc ) and of course the Walmart oil was blamed.
