I remember those tickets, I also remember when it was just the magic kingdom. One of our members even named his boat E Ticket. Then all the rest of the things started to build up, I saw a large portion of it building with my annual visits. My daughter was still in a stroller on the first visit, she is now 40 and we have taken her children there now on several occasions.

Can't tell you how many ticket books came home with only A & B tickets!

I'm with you on the gratuity issue - I have no problem with 18% in a traditional restaurant, but 18% for what is essentially self service is not appropriate and a restaurant that requires it is out of line. I would definately complain to management.

We saved up the leftovers and traded them in for a real ticket or at least partial payment, it worked out decently back then.

To the OP... Generally a party of 6 or greater at any restaurant down at the mouse house is going to get hit with an 18% gratuity charge added to the bill. It's generally posted on the very back of the menu near the bottom in fine print. And this is regardless if its buffet style or not... sucks, but it is what it is. Eveything around the attractions is higher price including gas if you're from out of town just be aware.
