Hello all my name is Brian I grew up in KY. but now I park my boots in northeast Georgia. My friends call me stick I dont much care which you use. Anyway I just bought my first 1960's 13' v-hull and me and my 12 year old son are about to undertake a major restoration. I have been watching ya'll from the shadows and I want to say you folks do great work and I can only hope to compare slightly to your skills. I will post pics of trhe boat soon and keep yuns informed of the progress with more pics.

Re: want to introduce myself

Welcome, to be sure. I personally "parked my boots" at Benning for a long time. I loved Georgia except that they (down there) don?t seem to know what hash browns are. I hope I never see another bowl of grits in my life!:D

Well that is not exactly true. I was on a boating trip in Monterey last summer and my dad and I found a little 50?s style diner. The owner must have been an old military man because on the menu was a breakfast that included fried spam, and biscuits swimming in gravy and grits.
And S.O.S. (nuff said)

Welcome Man and a boat. You're in the right spot for any/all things boat. Great idea including your son on the project. You'll both learn tons and have memories for ever. Holler if you get stuck. We love pics ;)

You Sir are in good company, I, and many others here, have never owned a boat before, and our first one has almost immediately brought us here to the drydock to a complete restoration.
Rest assured that in no time at all, you will become almost, if not more knowledgable on how a boat is supposed to be properly constructed, than the folks who originally built them...with the help and guidance from the awesome guys here on the forum.
