instead of me spending a day trying to look it up... or go and try and figure it out at home depot or lowes.

has anyone made one they can tell what parts they used....

I am thinking two ways...i could make a fitting that i attach a quick discconect air chuck to that screws into the lower unit against an o ring.

then i get a pump and attach a male air fitting to the hose coming out of it..

then attach the two air fittings and pump up to maybe 10 psi...then detach the pump and plug in a gauge that also has a male air fitting..

i might loose a little air on the exchanges...

but i could just sit and watch the guage at that point

the other way would be to build it all in one unit.....and i could read the guage that is mounted on the pump....

hope to hear from someone

thanks

Get a fitting that you use to plug into the L/U for installing new gear lube, and splice it into a bike tire style pump either the one you use your foot to inflate or a 12v one. Of course ones with a built in gauge so theres no changing or swaping.

Then watch the gauge to see if its leaking and/or use soapy water around known problem areas to see bubbles (leaks).

I have a 12 V emergency air compressor with a regular valve stem from a wheel.I hold the valve stem in the hole and flip the air compressure switch with my foot,When it hits 10 lbs I use my foot to turn the air off while I'm spraying dishsoapy water and just hold the valvestem in place.Works great

I used a 1" piece of clear plastic tubing and just sort of threaded it into the oil filler hole so it cut it's own threads. Then I took an old car tire stem/valve and scraped the rubber off, down to the brass. I jammed that in the plastic tube and hose-clamped it in there. Now I can screw it into the lower unit, and use a bike pump w/gauge to test the pressure.

Mityvac MV8255 dual pump(vac & psi) and hose & fitting off Lubermatic gear oil hand pump from Wallyworld. Total investment about $65 and it fits in tool box!!!

I just bought a MIGHTY VAC 8000 brake bleeder-vacumn pump...and i already have a pump and hose for lower unit oil!!

Ill see how is works

I should be checking with the lower unit empty theoretically to check both the upper DS seal and the lower PS seal....right?
