The motor was originally set up with controls and I was told I would get them along with the motor. The old guy took about three months before he asked me to go to his place to pick it up and once we made it to his shed I knew there was no hope. It's a long shaft and I need a short and the controls were nowhere to be found. After a few yellow jacket stings I gave up.

I checked the compression and it has 150+ on both cylinders.

The electric starter works great.

The part of the motor the tiller attaches to is broke so I am thinking I would be better off parting it out.

How much is the starter and flywheel worth?

How about the powerhead?

Hello,

Don't know about the powerhead but I picked up a complete starter assembly the other day for ?35, around $70. I did also see one on ebay for ?70. The flywheels really don't fetch much at all, $20 - $30. If the flywheel has one magnet on it's underside I would be interested in it because I want to change the ignition system on my Fastwin.

The engines can be bought running around here for $200 or so commonly. Parting it out will get you more if you can sell it all but it will take longer and be more work. There's not a lot of demand in my area for parts but the lower unit and electric start would be the most rare parts of any in my opinion. Powerheads are not that hard to come by.

I have seen the starter systems bring over $100.00, powerheads also, but they can usually bring 50 -70 easily enough.

I'm looking for a driveshaft/impeller shaft, for a 1966 Fastwin 18hp, any ideas if it's the same one, AND, if so, would you consider selling it and how much....?

I never ghad a fast twin, but since youre debating parting her out, I have a question. Here goes. I have a 71 60hp evinrude that has a much different electrical system than Im used to. Mine is ready to go so far as I can tell but....I believe I have a bad "clipper" the best it was explained is that its for a jolt in power to protect other critical components of the ignition system. The clippers are generally 3 or 4 wires. I would give you no more than 20.00 if you have a good clipper that works, Mine has an alum housing w/ that black waxy plastic on the inside, about the size of a 1/2 a candy bar, if you have 1 let me know. thanks tombthebomn@yahoo.com
