Want to premix my gas and oil

I have just purchased a 1991 Evinrude 60 HPthat has an oiling system. In the past I have always premixed and would prefer to do so for this motor. Can anyone tell me what is required to disconnect the oil system so I can Premix. The system is currently working fine

Tom, I just have to ask, why do you want to premix your gas?? I was under the impression, that having a pre mixing system on a outboard motor, was so much better then the old way

Yeah I have the same question???? Why would you want to pre-mix when the engine will do it for you very reliably?

Read up on the VRO system before you disable it, it gets a bad rap, I would never take it off given the option.

Just a personal preference I suppose. When I asked the question I had very little knowlege about the pump operation, however thanks to several posters on this forum I have gained a working knowlege about it and may alter my thinking
