I have a 18.5 ft. 1988 Bayliner Capri Cuddy. It has a blown FORCE 125 HP. I'd like to swap it with another outboard that is fairly simple to install. Does any other outboard match up? Thanks!

Most any will work, but you are gonna need a new set of controls, and wiring harness, and possibly an ignition switch.

If you choose a model other than FORCE you will need to fill the holes in your transom, and drill new holes. Why not repair your motor? There are lots of parts available from Mercury, or used ones on ebay. You can install a new powerhead yourself in one day with basic mechanical aptitude.

Well, not just "any motor" will fit. Those Bayliners are real deep v's, and use a 25 inch extra long shaft motor. And besides the old Force at 25, other makes a lot harder to find..with 25 inch legs
