It is a 1973 reinell 19ft 3.0L pre alpha drive. I don't really know what to ask for it so I thought I would get some advice. The issues: I need a new cam gear as mine got tore up when the distributer gear gave out. I got new dizzy gear. The drive has a leak some where never did pressure test it to see where. The uphoelstry needs work. I built new seats but never got my material to get them done.

They pros: New carb rebuild ran great when it ran. Motor has great compression for its age about 140 across the board. New shift cable upper and lower new impeller and housing. The hull is in great shape and it is a sweet looking "old" boat. Any thoughts? Should I just part it out or give it away..

give it away to someone that will use it and not gut it out and abandon it somewhere. There are plenty of people out there that (with a little mentoring) would love to enter the boating crowd. Offer it as a participatory project to a youngster and see if you don't get more out of it than they do.

I did try that at first but there is nobody that has the time. I would love to redo the old girl but the wife says its got to go. I would like for someone to get some use out of her. With a little R&R this would be one sweet boat.

Ya, I could do that. I guess I could just word it as a great parts boat or restore. I just don't want anyone thinking I took them on the deal I guess.

Re: want to sell old boat

Well I put a sign on it and sat it in the front of the house for 300$. For the first week I did not get any calls. I thought "man for 300 bucks this thing should be gone." Well the next day I get a call. The guy asks are you the one selling the boat I said yes I am. He then proceded to tell me that He has been getting none stop calls, yep you guessed it wrong number on the for sale sign. My wife was so embaressed. She would not let me write the sign because my hand writing is bad and then she goes and puts the wrong number. HAHA. Any way got the sign on it with the right number and got about 100 calls a day. I did sell the boat for 280$ to some younger kid that wants to restore it. I know have 25 more feet of room. HUMMMM what can I get next???
