Re: wanting a new prop,,
Like you we don't have a clue what you need. We have no idea what boat you have, what prop you have now, what the engine wide open throttle rpm is with an average load and what speed you currently have. You cannot just slam any prop on the boat and expect it to go faster. Who knows -- your boat may already be propped correctly and what you have is all you can expect. So - 1) look very carefully at your current prop for numbers stamped intot he barrel or on the end (behind the nut and washer). If you find numbers like 13-1/2x19P you have a prop that is 13-1/2 inches in diameter and it has 19 inches of pitch. You can measure diameter but you cannot measure pitch. If you don't see number like that, you may see a part number. Post those numbers and we can begin to help.. 2) With an average load, make several wide open throttle runs and not engine rpm and speed. Post those numbers and we can help some more. Without them, it's a crap shoot. If you don't have a tach or speedometer, we really can't offer much meaningful help.
