Wards Sea King 7.5 HP/ Clinton

I inherited a 1975 Wards Sea King. It runs fine. I am have a problem getting the motor to go into Neutral. I cant seem to get the throttle position to go to shift position. If I start the motor it just wants to run in gear. Any ideas?

When you say you can't get the throttle to go to the shift position, do you mean that it won't move to that position or that the engine won't run that slowly?

Here is an update to my problem.<br />1. Engine will idle to slow and shift position.<br />2. Engine runs forward even when I put lever in Neutral position. <br />3. Engine stalls as soon as Cam touches throttle plate lever. <br />4. Engine starts and idles great. <br />5. Got decent sparkies and fuel.<br /><br />Thanks
