Warm Starting problem, 1984 J90

I am having a problem warm starting my 1984 J90, starts great when cold (after priming and pushing in the key to choke).. and then runs at around 800 rmp smoothly after warming up. After a run at WOT and sitting for 20 - 30 mins however it does not want to start again.. I have to play around with the throttle in neutral to keep it running.

I am in a warm climate , around 85 deg most days..

Anyone have idea's on this?

idle should be adjusted to 650-700 in the water and in gear. idle in neutral will be higher. you do not adjust idle in neutral. you could also have a coil getting warm and failing. check your spark on all 4 cylinders when it does this.

you could also have an air leak in a fuel line, causing you to loose prime.

OK thanks. Guess on my next trip out I can try pumping the primer bulb before I re-start and see if that solves it. if it does guess I have a leak as you suggest.
