the warning buzzer sounds prior to ignition for a second, which i presume to let you no its working then stops once motor is turned over, which is all normal i hope. However we were out for the 1st time in it y,day and the buzzer was sounding off & on while at speed??? the sea was fairly rough so we didn,t push it, yet wen cruising at maybe 10-15 knots all was fine. This is the 1st tohatsu i,ve owned and it all seems a bit strange to say the least..motor has just been serviced, good presure out the telltale wasn,t hot wen checked during outing, who nose???<br />she,s a 90hp tohatsu which i believe is a 94 any help in this matter would be gr8ly appreciated cheers.

Re: warning buzzer??

Could be an alarm that sounds when your tilt is too high while on?? Happened to me with 97 Honda. Others will offer more (better) help.

Re: warning buzzer??

I believe the buzzer is there for water pressure, temperature and oil level. You may have been losing water pressure in the rough conditions if the pickup was leaving the water? Where did you get the motor from? I heard of three that were arriving in this neck of the woods. I would start by checking the impeller and oil level. Do a search on warning buzzers on this forum. There are some good troubleshooting tips to be found.

Re: warning buzzer??

Only just joined this forum so sorry about a delayed response. According to the TLDI 70 owners manual (same motor)it would be related to the water pickup taking in air. In rough conditions or at speed with the tilt not trimmed properly this alarm will warn you of the smallest air intake. Not sure if the sensor is in the pickup or the pump.

Did you work out what was causing it? Oil level maybe...
