Warning horn malfunction?

I continue to have issues with the low beeping noise I describe. I narrowed it down to the warning horn. This noise is a machine gun type, extremely fast beeping when I turn the key on. The engine is not even on. I checked the polarity of my trim gauge and verified all connections were clean and tight. I do hear the short blast when you turn the key. I will be replacing the ignition switch this weekend because it has lots of corrosion(maybe the cause).

Anyone seen this before?
1995 Evinrude 90 CV4 with VRO

Can I assume by you having said you've narrowed it down to the horn, you eliminated (disconnected) the overheat switches, the VRO and the oil tank? And the horn still "chatters"? If so, replace the horn. Ensure that any ground connections for the replacement horn are clean and tight. I have on a few occasions had to run a ground wire from the horn back to the ground lug on the engine after replacing the horn.

-John

Thanks for your reply John, I have yet to do what you stated. From searching this board I found a few tips such as the ones you suggested that I will try on Friday.
