Hello I have a 1989 1.6 SeaDrive. The warning horn is all rusted up and is not working.I went to my local dealer and that horn runs over $60.Wow.I'm gonna just install another temperature gauge for the other cylinder bank and call it a day.The VRO has already been disconnected.

thats, what happens when you are running and out dated engine that is no longer supported by the manufacturer, supply and demand, no more new parts being made. there are some that are interchangable with the outboard.

The SeaDrive is basically an Evinrude or Johnson outboard mounted to the SeaDrive bracket. The dealer did mention that BRP is not keeping up on parts for the older outboards. There are still a ton of them out there.I just went on a 56 mile roundtrip with this one. Those old crossflows sure run good but they like their fuel.

Re: Warning Horn Ripoff

The warning horn is not specific to an older model motor, of any kind, Sea Drive or outboard. It'll work on a lot of motors. The horn you buy today is a self test horn and is a much better unit than the early production ones.
