Thought I had a pump problem so I changed the impeller. Warning horn still makes intermintent and continuous beep-beep when I turn key but not start. What checks are being made when key is turn to pretest position.

Re: warning horn sensors

That would depend on what make, model, and hp motor you have.

Maybe low oil?

Re: warning horn sensors

Well our 1986 150 XR2 Black Max does that every time the key is turned from the off position to the on position. If I'm not mistaken on this particular engine it's simply a check to make sure that the horn is working.

Re: warning horn sensors

Mercury tracker marine 115hp OG55641. The problem started when I rev'd the engine kinda high while in neutral. Horn came on and has been stuck on. Someone suggested overheating and to change impeller. Took it out yesterday and it seemed to drive ok except warning horn will not quit. Only drove short distance. Thought I may have done something to a sensor or warning horn when I rev'd to high. Last week I disconnected battery for a few days. Reconnected and horn will not reset.
