i have a 1993 175 Johnson Fast Strike. It appears that the warning horn does not work. Where is it located and is there a wiring drawing for this circuit? This horn warns if oil is low or empty or if the engine is overheating. It is suppose to give a short beep when the engine switch is turned on.

Re: Warning Horn

There is a tan wire coming from a heat sensor on top of the cylinder head. Strip back the insulator on this wire. With the key on, short this wire to ground. The horn should blow.

Only late model horns will beep when you turn the key on. They are recognized by a separate black ground wire that has to be hooked up, in addition to the purple hot wire and the tan sensor wire.
