great present miloman!

2kboater - you have my condolences on your vampire. maybe you should have offered a pint of blood instead of food... ;)

i got good stuff, clothes, etc. but more will be had, since we'll be going to the inlaws this weekend to pickup their gifts. i did get a very unusual gift from my daughter - an RC boat! lol. i let her drive it in the tub. probably take it out to a pond soon. its already carrying a couple miniature barbie dolls, so i guess i'll have to come up with seatbelts. i guess i'm really lucky this year, since i also have presents unopened under the tree. this weekend is my birthday too. :D i need you guys to think positive thoughts and will it to come true- shimano curado, curado, currrrraDOOOOOOOE....

Re: was santa good to you?

miloman, i don't know which to advise - limited experience. you should ask that question in Engines section. guys with knowhow, like DHadley, and other racers can give you the lowdown on that... you might even want to look into the propeller that allows replacing blades... i think sloopy put up a link on it- can't remember the name now. plus think about a doelfin & prop/skeg guards if applicable.

Ebb all you need to do is rig some sort of release clip to it so you can hook up a bait and let the boat do all the work. Personally I would use it to drag out a natural(live or cut) bait out to a hole I could not reach but I bet you could tow a lure behind it sort of trolling in the strike zone for a long time w/o ever having to reel or recast.

Re: was santa good to you?

Ebb, Good luck on the Curado. I have had my eye on that reel for a long time.

Mine was good, I have not gotten the dish washer yet, but it will help both my back, and my wife's so I will have more fishing time.

I got a bunch of DVDs and the best present yet was the fully prepared skull of the black bear one of my brother-in-laws killed. Fully de-fleshed and treated with sealer. We were supposed to have bear meat for Christmas eve dinner, but my sister talked to my Mom first and she put the kibosh on it. She won't eat deer or any other wild animal.

PS, So much for my computer compatibility. Bought my son 2 new video games. Neither works. One is probably my fault since I am not running XP service pack 1 which is 137MB download over a phone line. The other is a Microsoft game which explains the problems. The last MS game I bought had some copy guard problems. they had to ship me a new CD.

Santa was good to me this year.

To start with I got an early present, a 70hp Yamaha with everything including a stainless steel prop. :D

Then I got a Bass Pro Shop Extreme combo that is real nice and another 7’ rod. A large tackle bag, 5 - 3700 Plano tackle boxes, 2 – 3600 Plano tackle boxes. 15 Bandit and Manns crankbaits and plenty of the regular gifts like clothes and such. I also got a Kershaw knife that is sweet. :D :D :D

Re: was santa good to you?

just like across the pond, there's a lot of rivers
where at any given time have some good trout/salmon.
I fish: bass, musky/northern, & wallaye but
all fish are welcome on my line.
the salmon river outside Syracuse is amazing if
they are running. steelhead are one determined fish!
I,m near point breeze here, so we catch some trout
off oak orchard creek by mistake a few times/year.
grew up in buffalo/lk. erie and just starting to
learn lk. ontario.

Re: was santa good to you?

Why does it seem like the older you get, the less you get, but the more you have to buy. I think I bought gifts for over 25 kids this year. I really wouldn't mind not getting anything for Christmas, as long as I got a smile from all the kids. Sounds like some of you guy's really scored. I'm glad to hear everyone had a Merry Christmas, I hope everyone has a safe and Happy New Year as well. Cheer's to Iboats, the relationships that have been borned because of it, and to many more years of happy boating and telling fish stories with you wonderful group of people. CHEERS!!!!
