Right beside the oil level bolt there is a bolt missing where it says wash. Is this something I should definately plug before running the motor? I didn't think it would be a big deal since it runs water through it anyway but wanted to ask first.

Thanx
Joe

Re: wash port?

hello
well not knowing the exact engine you have I am going to say YES. because it is a port to screw in a flushing device. on some engines this port is between the pump and powerhead and on others its on the pump intake side. either way it should be blocked off. if its a yammi the same size plug used for the gearcase vent scew is the same as the wash plug. on the suzy q I cant remember.
good luck and keep posting

Re: wash port?

I guess that info would help hehe. It's a Yamaha 40ESK. Would it need to be about the same length as the oil check bolt?

Joe
