Hello! I have a 1994 200h.p. Merc that has a new power head installed. Afer starting it up I noticed water and exhaust coming out by the steering rod. Not a lot but should not be anything. Would your guesses be that the gasket was installed incorrectly or ripped when the new power head was installed? Secondly, if the power head needs to come off, how do I replace the lower busing in the swivel brack. There is a lot of motor movement here Is it pressed in. The manual shows the busing but makes no mention on how to replace. This boat does 90 plus and I don't want the motor moving at all. Along those lines, should I go to solid motor mounts if I have to take this much apart?

Sorry for the long post but wanted to get it all on the table.

Thanks for your reponses...

Correct, on the exhaust plate gasket. Its real easy to slip this gasket during powerhead reinstallation. The lower bushing IS a pressfit bushing. But to remove it the upper bushing has to come out also.

Steve, If you can get get your hand's on a Service (shop) Manual for that motor it show's how to replace swivel bracket, yoke and all that good stuff on steering. Clymer-Seloc manual's aren't worth a @#$ for that job.
