Re: Water Circulation
AF, my t/stat is 130 degrees, so I think you're engine is running at the right temp. An easy way to check your impeller pump is to remove that plastic hose. When you start your motor water should shoot from the exhaust manifold. You should get a good stream flowing out. Obviously, you don't want to run the engine very long like this but give the motor a couple of seconds to pump the water through the system. Make sure the entire lower foot is submerged in water, which fills the pump housin intakes. I would have mounted my tell tale in that "welsh plug" but mine wasn't threaded. I didn't want to drill into the head. My setup works well and it shoots out a good stream of water. I was concerned about limiting water supply to the head so, I choked the hose size down to less than 1/8th ". I just kept inserting smaller diameter hoses until I couldn't get any smaller hose. Also, I wired a warning alarm to my thermal switch. Just for peace of mind.
