Water coming out around plugs

I have a 1975 Merc 650, I got my water flow issues resolved. Water is now leaking from around where the spark plugs are. Not from around the plugs themselves but it seems the gasket has gone...is this an easy fix? Also where the middle plug screws into seems loose....

Sounds like the cylinder block cover gasket needs to be replaced. this requires removing the powerhead. If you are going to try this I HIGHY recommend you get a Factory Service Manual.
