Water coming out back exhaust hole...

On my '78 90hp. I changed the water pump. Water started coming out the 2 square holes in the back...It's peeing good but there is pretty good bit coming out the square. I hope it's something I did, but I know I lined up the tube, that's the only thing I know it could be. Can anyone give me some ideas before I drop it again so I will know what to change.

It's sitting in a garbage can with water about up to the dyna float.

Water should be coming out the exhaust, go boating.

Really? It's a pretty good bit coming out. I was hoping it was because the motor wasn't warm and the new water pump was pumping it out before it could turn to steam. I just don't remember that much coming out..That makes me feel alot better, because my heart droped when I seen that.
Just to clarify it's the 2 squares that sit about a foot out the water in the back.
