One more dumb question for now all. Forgive me, I am an aircraft tech and mech, and an auto guy. I am learning lots about the water cooled outboard stuff, but some of it is quite different. The void under the rectifier (1986 Evinrude xp150)....is that what they call the water jacket? Does it fill completely with water, and that's how the rectifier/regulator gets a cool bath? I ask, because I am starting to wonder if that was filled up the other day, when it got hot. (I had no horn) If that was dry, I am hosed. (no pun intended)
