Just bought a boat (16' smokercraft ) w/25HP Merc 2 stroke. Unlike my other boats, this boat has integral fuel tank (12Gal). One friend said I should install an inline fuel filter / water filter with replaceable element (bowl type $36.99 ). He says danger of water in fuel is much greater with integral fuel tank 'cause they never get cleaned or completely emptied out or rinsed out with solvent. What do you guys think ? Every other boat I've ever owned always had portable plastic fuel tanks that I could take out and carry around (6 gal variety).<br />The engine already has the small inline fuel filter, but I'm wondering if this is a worthwile addition to mount this special bowl seperator type filter.
