Water flow isn't real great. I've checked the impeller and it looks fine but, my water flow isn't what I feel it should be. (Boat isn't overheating) I've ran it on muffs and in a tub and I disconnected the water hose before the oil coooler and after it to see if there was a difference. Even if the impeller looked fine, I'm wondering if maybe its worn and just not pushing enough water. Is that a common problem? Or is there something else I need to look at?

Anyone know how to remove the water pump base of the housing?

just because the impeller looks okay, does not mean it is

when was the last time the entire pump assy was replaced along with the base assy?

pry up on the base assy with 2 #3 flat blade screwdrivers on opposite sides levering on the drive housing, should pop right out

It's been 2 years. So the base just pops out? what holds it in place?

if im not mistaken there is a shim that slides down the shaft after you slide the waterpump cover down onto place.

If its not overheating, water flow is just right. ;)

You really can't judge it by running on muffs or in a tub.

It used to get much more flow before I removed the outdrive to install the shift cable. I do have everything installed correctly. So out on the water I should definetly get more flow? Especially when moving?
