Water gauge not working?

So my faria water pressure gauge does not work, actualy has never worked on my watch, I hooked compressed air to it today to get it working, no luck, used same air to check speedo, both thru pitot tubes (2 foot long ), speedo jumped all the way and worked well, my question is, what could be wrong with the water pressure gauge? Sure doesnt seem like there is anything in there to break? Or if theres a trick to it please let me know... Im scratchin my head...

1) is the tube hooked up at the gauge?
2) If there was ever water in the gauge and it froze, the gauge is toast. NOTE: Water does not flow into the gauge. Water pressure compresses air in the tube which makes the gauge work just as it does on the speedo.
3) Is the tube pinched, folded over or otherwise plugged?

Did you or the PO ever smack, beat on, or otherwise "encourage" the gauge at any point? They don't seem to like that very much. Ask me how I know:facepalm:

I do not have experience with a water pressure gauge, but I'd be willing to bet that there is more in there than you think that can go wrong.

Thanks for the ideas, im not sure if it ever got water in it, I guess ill need to pull it to find out, I was using a 2 ft tube to test, and try to break it loose, I "encouraged" it a little bit yesterday, nothing crazy just a couple love taps ill try to pull it here today or tomorrow... Sometimes the mechanical connection and pivot points from the pressure tube in the gauge to the dial gets corroded. You can try some WD-40 into the gauge body. it may loosen up.
