I think i have the dreaded glue seam leak on my motor, pulled the head yesterday, the cylinder and piston were steam cleaned, luckily caught in time before any damage could occur to the cylinder and piston. Ive researched this on a few sites and people say they can be welded. Has anyone had this done, and what kind of results did you have? About what price range does this kind of work usually run? I live in Kentucky and any reccomendations on machine shops for this work would be appreciated.
Really appreciate this site. Thanks in advance for any responses.

I just had replaced the orings on the heads about two months ago, Ive heard these motors in the early models of the 60 degree v6 that they develop a crack in the seam where the lost foam casting of the blocks are, ive read that about 25 percent of these motors will develop this. Only on the #1 cylinder always. thanks for the responses.

check the head for warpage, new gasket, as said could also be exhaust gasket. before tearing into something for nothing.

No head gaskets, just O rings.

Most likely it is the glue seam leak. There are a few places that can fix it like Mar-Fab in Sparta Tenn. The other place that I know for sure could fix them was sold and went out of business unfortunately.

I can get you Mar-Fab's contact info if needed.

Dhadley, i would appreciate the info for mar-fab very much, thank you, i pulled the regulator, to where you can see down in the block, and there is a hairline crack in the seam around the cylinder.
thank you.
