i have a mercruiser 4 clyinder inline ,M.c.m 180hp. At the end of this boating season, i experienced a heating problem, due to egged impeller in my out drive.
Replaced the impellor, cooling problem fixed.
Several days later , noticed motor running on 3 clyinders, Pulled plugs, & discovered water on cyinder #2 & 3.
My oil in my case pan has no discoloration what o ever very clean.
During the heating problem mentioned above, i did not overheat motor.
Could this be a blown head gasket?
Any help would be appriciated, before i proceed to check into it further during the off season.

Were i live in northern canada, is salt water, yes, during previous seasons, i took special care to flush & winterize carefully, due to boating in salt water, but this boating season took me by surprise.

you should perform a cylinder compression chek, if the cylinder you found water in is significantly lower than the others=head gasket
if compression is equal, then check out your riser gasket and exhaust manifold for cracks

100% sea water can only come in thru the riser, do you have shutters fitted? have you checked your riser?
