Hello all,
I am noticing that I am having to pump water out of my bilge only after using the ski trainer with the little ones. We are going 12mph on the perfect pass. Tubes at 15, wakeboard, skis and general cruising at 22mph+ have no water intrusion. At 12 we are not planing, that strange place between planing and idle. Just had the gimbal replaced and no signs of water in the bellows or u joint.
Any ideas where the water is coming from?
I saw a small crack ( not through all the way, i think)in the lower bellows when changing the trim sender today (thanks iboats for the info!) I think the lower bellows is the exhaust, so not a problem, but I sealed it with 3m 4000 (fast set hybrid sealant) anyways.
Thanks!
In case it's not in my signature - volvo 5.7 gi-e w sx-m. 2004 Four winns sundowner 225

The lower bellows is supposed to have slits or drain holes in them to allow water to drain out.

Thanks Bruce, the crack is actually on the side of the upper bellows. My lower does not have slits, just a few holes on the bottom - old style I believe. Since the crack is starting on the upper bellows, replacement is certainly in order?

Could the water be coming in because there is more pressure on the drive and the transom at that particular angle and speed. The boat sits on the water for a week with no water coming in. After the trainer I run the bilge for a good 30 seconds to drain it.

Yes...Need to replace the upper bellows. They need to be replaced every 4-5 years.
