I just purchase a used 2003 FM 165 a week ago and finally got it on the water today. When we pulled the boat out and pulled the plug I had some water come out which surprised me. I don't know exactly how much but would guess about a quart. We were on the water for about 2-hours. We had also used the live-well and had the plug in both the live-well and the live-well drain at the back of the boat. Is it normal to take on water in this boat? Also, where does the live-well overflow go? Is it possible the water in the bilge was from the live-well overlow?

Also, I have a slight gas smell in the storage compartments. I keep the boat in the garage and leave the compartments open while storing. is this enough to minimize the gas smell? Also, I read on a different post that the gas vent tube is in the bottom of the boat venting into the bilge. Can I move this to a different area that provides better ventilation and elminates the gas smell in the storage compartments?

I used my live well a few times already, i did have more water than you spill over because i accidently had it on (manual) to long, the overflow couldn't keep up with the pump so it went in the boat. The gas smell is pretty normal, i have the same in my storge compartments, really don't about vent position & moving it but sounds like a good idea.
