Boat has ran great many times this year. today, it became sluggish to get up out of the water. I called it a day, got it home and pulled the plugs thinking i might have fouled one. when i pulled the second from bottom a good bit of water poured out. i tilted the engine down and even more came out. wasnt milky at all ...clear. I'm pretty sure i can do the work, but i've never had this problem with an outboard and i dont know where to start. head gasket??

Any and all suggestions would be appreciated.

also, i have noticed very recently that i was having problems getting better than 3800 rpm, i believe i used to get 44-46. today it wouldnt get up on plane...took about a minute to get to what i believe is about 50%.

another odd thing is that the shifter(throttle) arm has alot of "dead" degrees of rotation, and then does the full throttle up in about 25-30 degrees. I only ever drove an old aluminum sylvan but i dont remember that being that loose. is there an adjustement for that?
