I have a 1973 65 3 cylinder Johnson. It has always ran great. This year I started to have trouble with it and found that when I ran it, the lower cylinder had water in it? Any suggestions?

kevinwhit2,

Four possibilities.

1. Head gasket.
2. Exhaust cover gasket.
3. Powerhead to exhaust tower gasket, or lower crankcase seal.
4. Cracked block.

Most likely it is # 1 or 2.

Thanks djohns19. Any helpful tips on how and where I start on narrowing it down. I am new at this so I will have to know the basics.
