Water in lower unit what now ?

Went to change the lower unit oil and got some vanilla milkshake instead. Possible remedies to fix without rebuild ?
Are there certain seals I should try and replace

Drain out old lube, refill, making sure you use new seals on the screws.

Use it a few times.

Check for water in the lube.

If you find water, replace the seals on the driveshaft, propshaft, and shiftshaft.

Pressure test it.
It could be as simple as a leaking drainplug seal.
Or a propshaft seal.
Look up pressure tester in the search function of this site.
It should show how to build one or cobble one together.
Maybe take it to a local marine shop.
Or come visit me.I'll check it for free!

Going to pick up new seals for all the drains as the ones on there were toasted some came off in pcs hoping that's the problem. Going to look into the pressure tester It's probably good to have one handy.

Also how many quarts of oil will I need to refill the lower 125HP

Force 125 lower will hold almost 1 quart.
When I found water in my lower I first drained then add oil with drain screw off to help get excess water out of the bottom
of the gearcase. Replace drain screw and fill until overflowing out the vent, wait an hour or so with fill and vent screws off for the air bubbles to escape then add again until
overflowing and then screw back on both the fill and drain screws.
Doing this will take a little over a quart so its best to have 2 quarts on hand.

I think that sonds like a good idea about the air bubbles, however I heard some people says you can overfill the gearcase. With the pressure from everything spinning in there, you can blow out a seal or two.
