When I changed my lower unit oil at the beginning of the year the rubber washer was left off and I got some water in. Do I need to do anything other than drain and refill it.

I would drain it, refill, then run it a few hours. Then repeat to be sure you got it all out.

Hope it didn't freeze over the winter. I usually get 2 or 3 teaspoons of water out of mine in the fall. I allways drain mine in the fall and leave it empty till late spring. If water freezes in there it WILL crack the housing.

Hopefully it was not salt water. I have seen salt cause rust on the bearings and gears, if that happens they will not last very long. Keep an eye on the oil for metal
