Water in shift cavity?

Didn't pull my drive last season (alpha 1 gen 1). Took on some water and was concerned that it made it to the drive. Pulled the drive and found a small amount of water in the shift cavity. No rust yet. Everything else was dry. Still have the old style shift seals, is that the most likely culprit (bellows look good) ? Gimbal bearing also wasn't as smooth as it could be, and I noticed some cracking on the water supply hose from the drive. Hoping everything will hold till the off season. Any other potential source of the leak? Off season repairs will be:
1. Water hose
2. Bellows
3. Shift shaft seals
4. Gimbal bearing
5. Impeller
6. Trim senders? Will these be a "while you're in there" repair, or will it still be a pita? These mean very little to me...

Anything else I should replace while I'm in there? Right now shift cable is fine (replaced last year), we'll see if that holds up.

Sounds like a good list. Skip the senders if they work. All you need is the gauge to work anyway. Shift cable should be just fine for a number of years.

Did you replace the shift cable bellow with the cable? If so, I wouldn't go through that headache again if you used an OEM bellow. If not, change it with the rest of em and use oem bellows.

Yeah, changed shift bellows with oem last year. Rick stephens, trim senders haven't worked in years. Be nice to have them just because I like everything to work, but they aren't needed at all.

Yah. I like having the gauge work. I set it to where I know what it means and is useful to set best cruise. I don't connect the trailer trim sender. Major pita changing them...
