water in starboard side of motor

Today I started up my boat for the first time this year in the garden with the hose. after a coulpe of mins it started to die down so i shut it off. so i opened up the plugs and water came out starboard side all plugs. I'm 99% sure this is down to a bad riser gasket as i had them off in the winter and just put the old ones back in. think i should have installed new ones.
Will i have caused any or much damage to the engine by it running for about 1 mins with water in the cylinders.

There is no such thing as a re-usable gasket.

I know I should have installed new ones, New ones coming in the morning. do you think my engine should be ok.
I can not seem to find any info about the compound I should be putting on here in Ireland. non setting etc. as I cant find a brand here.

Impossible to answer your question without knowing what gasket you are using, and what year model you have.

Here is a 2010 Volvo bulletin on installing the OEM riser gaskets used in conjunction with the instructions that come with the gasket.
