Water in the Oil??

I have an 89' Four Winn 17' Freedom with a OMC 2.3l Cobra.
I was just going over a few things on the motor and I noticed water on the oil fill cap and so forth.
So my question is by doing a compression test to check the head gasket, is there a way to check the exhaust.
I am assuming that these are the only two places for water to get in the engine?

Thanks Much
David

Instead of compression test do a cylinder leak test. Listen for where the compressed air is leaking.

before you start tearing the plugs out, did the boat sit around quite awhile, or did you idle around for a time when there was lot of rain or humidity.
if your oil is not milky, you may just have condensation and it just needs to have a good WOT run to get the condensation clear of the block?

Re: Water in the Oil??

Well I just bought the boat and took it out yestarday for the first time. Everything looked great when I inspected before I bought it.

So how do I do a leak down test and am I going to have to make a run to Sear's for new tools? I like new tools...

Something tells me I better get this fixed before the Admiral finds out our new boat is broken....!!!!!

does it run good and smooth other than the mositure

it does back fire through the carb on acceleration, once it gets up to speed it seems to run fine.
Idles nice and smooth. Revs fine when in nuetral.
