Water in Trim Pump

Hi, Just a quick question. I am recovering from an "alleged" submersion of my new to me chaparral 1930. The Trim pump was contaminated and I need to flush it out. Is there a alternate fluid other than "Quicksilver Power Trim and Steering Fluid" that is recomended in the manual?? I would rather not drive 20 miles if I don't have to.

Ayuh,... ATF, Hyd. oil, P/S fluid, or motor oil will work Just Fine...

skip the atf.... I used it for a long time but recently stopped wwhen I found that it does NASTY things when mixed with water.... use motor oil or power steering fluid

What kind of "things"? Since I am thinking that my new to me boat was submerged or flooded for some amount of time, the trim tank was contaminated with water. The liquid that resulted was like "the blob" monster! It was gooey, thick, sticky, etc.... I don't know how it even worked prior to I discovered it! Last night I flushed 1 gallon of 10-40 motor oil through the pump.
