positive the water has never been there before while i have had it......the cover covers the vents and anchor light fixgture, and the ski rope cleat is set in some, and there was a lot of water.....

Whoa whoa whoa, the engine compartment vents are back there? I'll say it's possible that the vents touch the cover, and the water "wicked" through. Especially if the boat was at a different angle than it normally would be on the trailer.

the vents....or the rub rail....

again....it is very common to have water hit the back of a transom and water will splash under the cap hull joint.

put a mirror in there and see where the water was leaking from the top of the pool.

just to clarify, the boat was sitting in the water when this happened, beached.

Since you say "beached", only thing in my mind is that if it is infact o a beach, the increased bow height may have contributed to water flowing in an un-natural direction causing pooling that won't happen again under normal circumstances.

Last year I noticed my cap was separating from the hull in an area and quite a bit I might add! I just used all purpose caulk which doesnt sound like the right product and screwed it back together and it is still holding fast however my bowrider leaks like crazy from the windshield so I know after a rain storm my autobilge pump has had a workout!

Nice boat BTW!

To those who doubt the fact that water can intrude via the deck/hull joint:

Every screw at the joint in question (the shoebox joint) is a pathway for water. If water hits a screw it will adhere to it and find its way into the boat. Why? Because the joint, and the point where the screw is bringing to parts together, is stressed and flexed and not sealed very well for very long. Those screws are not making a water tight seal. Imagine water just wicking along them into the boat.... multiply this by many screws and hundreds of encounters with rain, water, washings, etc.....

Was your drain plug tight? Also, alot of boats hold water in the bow area from leaking anchor lockers, rod holders, loose railings etc.. Not saying this is your issue, but if there was water in the bow and you beached the boat, when beached the stern is lower in the water, while the bow is pushed higher out of the water. Could have been some water that had been in there a long time and when you beached, it all rolled back to the stern/bilge. Let us know if you find the culprit.

It is for sure not the vents because they are under the swim platform, and any water that splashed against the transom wouldn't do it because the swim deck protrudes out a foot back behind the transom there for the rubrail, seam of the hulls are quite a ways away from the transom......it has nothing to do with the plug, or water entering the boat to fill the bilge, because the area that is collecting water is 2 feet above the bilge, or at the top of the motor. I'm with some of you guys, water has to be running down the rub rail towards the back, but then again when it gets to the back why would it not just leak out of the rail again, instead of going over the rail, through a secure screw hole, and then over a lip, just don't make sense to me.

you are over thinking this bud.......boats are simple.....just take a hose to it when its on the trailer......you will find the leak.

the majority of the leaks are under the rub rail at the cap hull joint.....this has been proven over and over and over.

when a coustomer comes into my shop with with a leak described as yours......thats where i find it ....allmost every time....unless he had added something like a new anchor mast
