I would like thoughts on how to approach mitigating the water on the wrong side of the stringers. I've included two photo's of the boat and one photo from Cruisers, Inc. detailing the construction of the hull. I expect there to be water only in the centerline of the hull that leads to the drain plug in the stern (green X in the photo), but somehow, during today's rain, the other side of the stringers filled with water and are really not draining. There's now wet foam in there.

The stringers seem quite solid and the only softness/rot that I've found so far is in those photo's. I'm going to look at the deck to see where the water may be filling from.

For a solution, I'd like to have a way for water to drain through the stringers on either side and would it be a bad idea to drill a 1" hole at the bottom of both stringers in the stern, seal it up inside the hole, as a way for water to find its way out?

I would first dry out the foam and check to make sure the integrity of the stringers are good. If everything is solid, put some plastic over the rotten plywood spots, cover everything, take a water hose and spray the area down. Should be able to trace back how the water got there.

Might want to read the following thread http://www.thehulltruth.com/archive/t-187648.html before drilling any hole in the stringer

Thank you for the suggestion....I'm going to peruse the recommenced thread now and will report results once I have a chance to investigate the water as suggested.

I got an email back from Cruisers, Inc. and they told me there are some weep holes in the stringers, so maybe the way the boat is sitting on the trailer is causing the water to pool up. I'm going to lower the front later, now its up a bit high.

Depending on how much junk got on that side of the stringer, it could be clogged. Also the foam may have contracted and expanded to prevent good flow. May want to try and run your hand or take a coat hanger and see if you can clean it out.
