I have spent the last 4 days making a new snap cover for my boat. During that time I had a large boat cover that isn't custom fit but normally provides another barrier from water. Also during this time we had some nasty weather and several inches of rain. With the loose cover and lots of rain, the boat got very wet inside. My question is, how bad is it for the boat to get drenched and stay drenched for 4 days? I realize boats are made for water and must be able to handle some amount of moisture. Also, now that I have the cover in place and the weather is turning nicer, are there any actions I should take because of all the water. Besides keeping the plug up and draining the entire time.

Oh yeah. Here's my new cover.

Just leave out the plug to drain it out when you can. If it's a sunny day uncover it to let it dry completely. Then, once fullly dry cover it to keep it clean and protected..

Keep the bow way up too so the water runs out quickly. It's not preferable to drench it constantly, but it shouldn't be a killer either.

Take the covers off and let it air out for a few days. Stick it in your garage overnight or if it looks like rain outside. When not in use, my boat is garaged 100% of the time so it gets nice and dry inside.
