Neither a trickle or pour - NO water should come out of the transom. Any water would mean water was trapped in there, and contribute to the waterlogging, mildew, and rot.

thats what i mean some water is coming out but not fast.Should i just try and let it drain or try suckimg it out with the shop vac?

Wood? Did any shavings come out on the drill bit? If so, what condition was it in? Black and mushy means more testing. Higher and wider until good wood is found. You have to decide if the transom is sound or not.

Water oozing from your test holes is a classic sign of a waterlogged transom, the core is more than likely mush, it will never dry out, the only fix is to remove cap and rebuild with new wood and fiberglass, same with below the deck, take a core sample with a 2" holesaw and 5 to 1 you'll discover more wet. That's too bad but it happens all the time to unsuspecting buyers.

thenovascotian, Do you have a place say under the seats that is out of site? You can take a two inch hole saw and cut a hole through the decking to take a look at the foam. You can then you can take a sample of the foam and check for water. If it is dry then just take the plug you cut out with hole saw and using Gorilla Glue put it back in totaly water proof. If it's wet you will have to decide wether to cut your losses or repair it.
