I just checked Big Cedar Lake, which is close to where I live, and from shore to about 20' out is melted. Just cant wait till the hard water gets a little softer. Curious about Lake Geneva, because we want to get us some nice 'gills.

The Web Cam makes Lake Geneva, WI look like water.

The Web Cam out in Lake Erie North of Cleveland, OH shows it thawed out! Finally!

Streff, you need to be heading up to Fremont to get in on the walleye run, and in a few weeks the whitebass will be running.
Or DePere, where the walleyes are in full swing right now.

Good Luck.

Twin went out Monday night, Powers went out last night. Geneva? Haven't been into town yet to look.

Actually seen a guy on his boat casting this morning on Powers.

I use this website to check the daily satellite views this time of year.
MODIS Today -- CIMSS/SSEC
Click the region of the country you want then the 250m zoom and wait for it to load then scroll around to the lake you want. It works for the bigger lakes anyway.
You will need to pick a day that wasn't overcast.

Here's Lake Geneva on April 9. The little blue and white area in the middle. Looks like it might be a few more days yet.

But at least you look closer than I do. Heres Winnebago from the same day.:grumpy:

Thanks, bekosh. I drove by Big Cedar today, huge improvement over yesterday. Im hoping pretty soon. But I have to go out of town next weekend, so it will likely be a month or so before I even have time to go out

In NC its still a bit cool to swim for any extended period. Many of the skiers use wetsuits, but I'm old school.

Campy, HAH! Being from WI, the weather in NC seems tropical! I'm actually heading there in two days for vacation. Any recommendations of things to do / check out in the Raleigh and Wilmington areas?
