Hi learning. Welcome aboard. It sounds like your motor is doing just what it was created to do. If there is a lot of water coming out of the holes on the back of the leg, particularly when you are throttled up, you are pumping a good quantity of water through the powerhead. It wouldn't be a bad idea to carefully put your fingers or the side of your hand on the top of the powerhead while she is running (at idle, tied off -- and watch out for the flywheel). That way you will get an idea of the proper temperature. It's not real exacting, of course, but you are cooling properly if you can keep your hand/fingers on the top of the head or between the cylinders for a few seconds without feeling what doctors call "discomfort." On the other hand, if the head is too hot to touch, you can be pretty sure you are overheating (for future reference -- not likely with the way you are currently pumping water).
