Water Pooling In Bottom Cowl

Good Morning,

2000 50 HP 2-Stroke Shouldn't there be a drain somewhere down it there? Where is the drain hole that's plugged?
I'm going to try a piece of coat hanger to clear it out?

Bottom portion of the cowling level full with water...

So, as a result of this several wires with bullet connectors were submerged. And now I'm ordering a new voltage regulator/rectifier module as it was completely fried! Starter checks out okay.
Any ideas why this water isn't draining away? It's a 50ELPTO...

Do you mean water flooding lower pan, where engine sits onto ?

Yes, that's right. I'm wondering if the water got in there while in reverse and it's just a matter of the cover not sealing tightly. It's on a 28' pontoon...
