I/m sure capable of nstalling them just cant find any instructions or videos or anything. Can any one point me in the right direction?

Re: water pressure and motor temp gauges

Ive seen plenty of threads on this forum and others discussing that. All point to the usefulness of a water pressure gauge and not so much for the temp, but those were for non-thermostatted Mercs. I'm not sure if yours is or isn't one.

Also, manufacturers of gauges often have instructions on their web sites. have you checked farina's or teleflex's www sites?

Re: water pressure and motor temp gauges

The pressure gauge will need to be plumbed to the cooling system of the V6. Some years have extra threaded pipe plugs you can use. Other years need to be "tee-d" into one of the water hoses. On my '93 V6, I tee-d the pressure gauge into a hose from the top of the powerhead to the bottom of the powerhead. It works well.

BTW - it will only show 7PSI at crusing speed, unless you have some different kind of waterpump, than I.

Some Mercs have a temp gauge sender in one head, as well as a overheat sensor in the other head. See what you have....

EFI or carb?

Its a carb motor. I have a oem servive manual on the way to help me be more familiar with the motor . I just bought the boat a few days ago.
