I have a 1985 140hp Johnson with a 25" shaft. I believe its a looper V4.
Where is the best location to drill a tap for a water pressure gage and what should the pressure be?

Hmmmm. I think your '85 has a tattle-tale (pisser) and I also think all ya gotta do iz tee into that line. If you get the gauge kit from your OMC dealer, it should have instructions. My 200 'rude has about 18psi water pressure at wfo.

c/6
Hooty

The loopers read water pressure from the adaptor plate which is incoming pressure. On the 1985 you T into the line from the adaptor going to the water control valve.

Good luck!

Thanks Hooty/Dhadley,
Now I'm stumped. I thought I knew my motor. I didn't know it had a water control valve. Where is the valve located? Thanks, Dude
