I'm getting a J/E water pressure gauge this AM for my 1988 140 v4 looper. It has the original thermostat configuration.

I'm looking for any advice on the best place to tie in the line even if I need to tap.

Thanks

Morning ezeke....up early testing the oil? :D

Usually you tap into the overboard (telltale) hose. On the 140, make sure you get into the hose coming from the block and not the t-stats. Look for the little screw in elbow on the block...this is the tell tale fitting.

I'm thinking, depending on the how good the pump is, you could see 6 > 12 psi at WOT.

Good Morning to you too, sir, and thanks for the info.

The water will hit 50 degrees here soon, so the striped bass will be back. I'm ready.

I put in a new pump and thermostats, seats etc. last fall. This motor has been unbelievably good and I want to keep it that way.

Thanks again.
